The RBT 2 implements behavior analytic programs written by the Assistant Clinical Supervisor (BCaBA), Clinical Supervisor (BCBA) and/or Center Director in order to teach communication, social, and other functional skills to clients. Due to the additional experience and skill set of the RBT 2, this level technician will also act as a support and role model for others.

Qualifications

An RBT 2 should demonstrate the following before being considered for promotion to RBT 3

  • Must continue to meet all criteria, competencies, and activities that are expected for previously held roles (RBT 1) and their current role (RBT 2)

  • Can show at least six months of consistent clinical supervision feedback scores (Monthly RBT Feedback Logs) at a level 3 on RBT Supervision Log, AND

  • Is dependable – e., did not miss work, arrive late, or leave early (unexcused)

  • Converts appointments and documents sessions timely, accurately and consistently

  • Acts as a mentor for newer or less experienced staff on all clinical skills, especially in regard to rapport building with clients

  • Willing and able to work in center, home, or community settings

  • Actively seeks input from BCBA to best assist client

  • Maintains competencies on RBT task list

  • Communicates timely and within expected avenues regarding schedule

  • Ensures times are accuracy for each appointment before converting

  • Assists where needed across the center and models’ flexibility to less experienced staff

  • Has completed all required training assigned in LearnUpon
